It turned out like this, A wonderful man was violently taken away from all of his family, step and otherwise. He was very loved, and he was brutally murdered by a man who was completly obsessed with her and refused to left her be with anyone else. Jaime Ramos just sat on national television and completely lied. You never once saw my mother say that she told this fool to kill her husband did you! And I did not watch the show so I do not know what was on it, but I do know that my mother and entire family refused to do interviews with dateline, and in fact we sent them the apology confession letter that Jaime had given to my mom while they were looked up in Placerville, and dateline said that they weren"t going to use that! so that is where its at, Oh and Jaime was sentenced to 25 years to life because of his past history of violence. something like stalking and raping his high school teacher! Yeah go figure, and beings he was a minor when he committed his first crime they had his records sealed! jaime is a liar and a soulless bastard and he has robbed all of us who loved mom and dad of our lives! Life will never be the same!!!!!

He is completely lying, and ron presba's family believed him. and they would of actually been okay if he walked away scott free. As long as my mom went to jail for the rest of her life was all they cared about! Forget the fact that they never liked her, never wanted her in the family, and never once I don't think took the time to consider that maybe, just maybe this Jaime charcter was really the one! No her action after the fact were of no excuse, but I feel in my heart that they were the action of a desperatly ashamed woman, who was so scared! She alone has 4 kids and 10 grandchildren, and on the part of the show where it shows my mom in the interigation room saying "he loved me very, very much and I loved him very, very much she was referring to Ron not Jaime. This I know for a fact! Dateline is really misconstrusing the entire thing and these police investigators are loving this publicity, and all Jaime wants to do is con the world, he claims to be so good at convincing people, lets see how good he does in Prison!

There was no confusion that Patty's statement was about Ron. But none of Patty's actions before and after the fact were out of love for Ron. Genuine love protects and Patty protected nobody except herself. She should be desperately ashamed and scared... that's how people who are deceptive and have done wrong feel. Playing pin pong with the sorted sick details and choices in Jaime and Patty's relationship does not change the fact a sweet good man was deceived and had all choices taken away from him. As sad and shocking as this story is... I was left with a truly sick feeling to hear Patty had her 3 year old granddaughter in the house as she cleaned up the murder scene. I would be rising up with anger at my mother (how could she continue to put people she loves in such bad places) any justifying or defending Patty's thinking is delusional and confusing.

In cold blood, in their childhood home, based on a plot that Peggy confessed to, that she admitted to planning and spent years in the making of. Reguarless of whom she used as an accomplice, she ultimately took accountability for her actions. She deserves everything and more that she's gotten. This story as presented by Dateline clearly aims to be sympathetic to Jaime, which is clearly an unjustice. But Peggy's participation, premeditation, and guilt cannot be disreguarded. Ron never deserved to die. He was a devoted father, grandfather, son, and brother. He was brought down well before his time. Ron's family has now not only been robbed of one of the most blessed souls to ever walk the Divide, they've lost their childhood home, their faith in people, their foundation of security. Every time they come up or leave "The Hill" they must also face the one place that will forever be scarred with his tragic death. Every one of the 10000 people who live on The Divide, know his tombstone, which is just a mile marker on the edge of a cliff surrounded in flowers and lead up to by a trail of spraypainted circles on Chili Bar. The hillside there, still remains charred with the evidence of his tragic death. Stop feeling sorry for yourself. So much more has been lost by this greed.

Many psychopaths are glib and superficially charming, and can be excellent mimics of normal human emotion. A psychopath needs people around them that will justify and defend their thoughts and actions. Sadly this sounds like a description of your mother. I am sorry you and your family is left to deal with the repercussions of your mothers contribution but blind loyalty is not the answer.

you are right! We are left to deal with all of this garbage and the real people to blame are patty and jaime! I just get so angry when people act like we are in any way responsible or in anyway comparable to this horrible stuff that went on. We were raised by her and obviously if this is who she is, then she covered it real well for 30 years!

To "daughter" - How many times have you seen horrible events on the news... The mother that drown her 2 little boys by putting them in the back seat of her car and rolling it into a lake. That mother that drown her kids in the bathtub. These women were somebody's little girl once, somebody's sister and the people close to them were shocked, confused and searching to make sense of it all. There were signs... but nobody would ever imagine or comprehend ultimately leading to such tragic endings but the fact is it did. You are not your mother, you are responsible and accountable for your own actions and words only. It will not be easy living with this dark cloud hanging over your family.

The show was for entertainment only, i guess thats all I can really say! That and of course we were not outside that day laughing, listening to music, or anything other than mourning for our Papa. And Yes we did believe that Papa hit a deer, that is what we were told. And only out of respect for Papa did we not talk to any reporters or do interviews. We loved him very much and he loved us, and naturally we never would of thought our mom could be responsible for this! I think I am still in shock over it. However I was not there that night, so I don't know the real details as to what took place that night. The evidence and the forensics pretty much tell a story, don't they! And I guess beings as both of them are liars, we will never know the real truth. I knew my mom lied about a lot a stuff, it was almost like she was pathological with it, but never in my worst nightmares could I of even imagined that this was possible. But I am not stupid, sure I love her, can't help that, but I really wish that everybody wasn't so jjudgemental of us! We did nothing wrong, and we lost all of our parents in the blink of an eye, and our children lost all of their grandparents in almost on fell swoop! So there you go
